Oil Pump Installation

The Engine Oil Pump that you are installing has been completely rebuilt; the pump has been dis-assembled, cleaned and inspected for wear. The housings and separator plate have been surfaced, to ensure that there are flat, the oil pump gears have been polished and checked for correct gear backlash  clearances. The pump has been lubricated with oil and is ready for installation.

Before installation make sure that all parts and oil galleries have been extensively cleaned, damage to the pump due to debris in the engine oil system will void the warranty.

Install new case seals into the crankcase and install new locking tabs and nuts, the nuts are torqued to 25NM/18Ft Lb’s. Fold the lock tabs up to secure the oil pump retaining nuts.

Note:
Depending on how long since the pump has been overhauled the oil used to lubricate the pump may become sticky. This is normal. When you receive your pump squirt some clean engine oil into each port on the pump and rotate the pump several times by hand, the pump should turn freely once the oil has been circulated.
