The factory advance curve on the Yellow Tag distributor is often suboptimal for the 911S engine it was fitted to. The advance kicks in too early, which can cause roughness, belching, etc. at lower RPMs. Due to manufacturing variations in the advance weights 50+ years ago, some yellow tag distributors cause a more pronounced roughness than others.

This recurve will keep the advance at zero further into the RPM range, which is a better fit for the S engine. You will receive a print-out of your distributor’s new advance curve. This recurve involves additional labor and machining beyond our regular restoration service, so we offer it as an optional upgrade to our standard service.

Restoration of Your Ignition Distributor, 930 3.3L "045" Restoration Service for YOUR Ignition Distributor
Send your distributor to us for restoration.

We will restore your Bosch 0237.302.045 or 0237.302.034 ignition distributor for Porsche 930 3.3L 1986-90 models. When you send your distributor to us, it will be disassembled, cleaned, media blasted and polished. We install new bushings, shims, seals, hardware, a new spring package, cap, and rotor.

Your distributor is rebuilt to factory specifications. Lateral and vertical play are adjusted to within acceptable limits. The distributor is tested on a Sun distributor machine, with results printed and included with the ignition distributor.  

If you would also like new cap clips, please add two of our large-sized clips, part 930.602.965.00. We have drive gears available as well.

Note: this price does not include the vacuum can. If your ignition distributor vacuum can is not re-usable, then we will have to contact you to discuss other options. Not all cores are rebuildable.  Damaged cores may require additional machining and/or parts not included in this service; if that is the case, we will contact you.

This is a thorough restoration, and we will need your distributor for 4-6 weeks. Turnaround times will vary with shop workload and the condition of all components.

Rebuild Service for Your CIS Fuel Distributor, Bosch 018 Rebuild Service for YOUR Fuel Distributor
Send your Bosch 0438.101.018 in for restoration.
The Bosch “018” was used on Mercedes 420 and 560 vehicles, 1986-91.
Please check the Bosch number on your distributor before ordering.
This fuel distributor *not* used on any Porsche CIS vehicles.   
Turnaround is 4-8 weeks depending on current backlog.

Your fuel distributor will be thoroughly reconditioned and repaired by skilled technicians, using processes and equipment similar to the ones originally used by Bosch. All rebuilt units are bench / flow tested prior to shipment. We don’t sell rebuild kits for fuel distributors because most individuals and shops lack the equipment and process knowledge to do this specialized job.

Rebuilt units are backed by a 1-year repair-only warranty. Your fuel system must be properly cleaned before the unit is installed for the warranty to be valid.

Please remove any line fittings and hang onto those. There is an extra charge if we remove them here.  Drain the part of all fuel. Place the core in a sealed bag or container, and carefully pack the item so that it cannot move around in the box. Improperly packed components are often damaged in transit, and leaking or odorous boxes can be quarantined by shippers.

Distributor Rebuild Kit, 0.231.159.006 without Cap/Rotor Distributor Re-Build Kit for 0.231.159.006

Due to the high and escalating cost of caps & rotors, we offer this kit for the 0.231.159.006 distributor without cap or rotor. This lets you choose your preferred brand of cap and rotor, or use ones that you already have.

This kit is for Bosch distributors with number 0 231 159 006 on the side; it's the distributor for the 911E from 1969-71. The kit includes points, springs, bushings, shims, seals, hardware, felt dot, and gear pin.

New cap hold-down clips are available; please see part number 901.602.965.00. Drive gears are available too.

This kit is intended for the professional rebuilder who has the tools and skills to install the bushings and ream them to fit the shaft, and who has a distributor machine to set the unit up after rebuild. Severe damage may be inflicted on the ignition distributor and the engine if the distributor is improperly rebuilt, set up, or installed.  

Instructions and diagrams aren't included. If you feel you need instructions, please let us rebuild your distributor or take it to an experienced rebuilder.

We do not offer partial kits, but we do sell many individual parts for the Bosch and Marelli distributors on Porsche models.

Your unit will be restored professional, skilled technicians with processes and equipment similar to what Bosch originally used. All rebuilt units are flow tested before shipment. We don’t sell rebuild kits for fuel distributors, because most individuals and shops lack the equipment and process knowledge to perform this specialized job.

Rebuilt units carry a one year repair-only warranty which requires that your fuel system be properly cleaned before installation.

Shipping Instructions:
When sending your core in, please remove all hose/line fittings and hang onto them. There is an extra charge if we remove them here. Drain the part of all fuel. Place the part in a sealed bag or container, then carefully pack into a sturdy box and ensure the part cannot move around inside the box. Write your order number on the outside of the box and ship postage pre-paid to:
