Carburetor Services
A complete carburetor overhaul is always necessary when your engine is restored. This ensures that the engine will perform at its best and will also help to prevent expensive engine damage. Overhauling a carburetor involves more than just buying a gasket set and installing it. Over the years components like throttle butterflies will wear out, gasket surfaces will distort and warp due to heat and over torques, and linkages and throttle shafts will wear and will need to be repaired.
At Partsklassik our carburetor service involves not only the complete dis-assembly and cleaning of the carburetors, it also includes repairing and/or replacing worn major components, replacing calibrated parts (Weber Carburetors), ensuring the correct fuel and air mixtures are used, gasket surfaces are trued, and all hardware is replaced and/or re-plated to restore the original look of the carburetor. After reassembly, the carburetor is wet tested to verify fuel float heights are correct and there are no fuel leaks, and the accelerator pump discharge volumes are tested and adjusted. We wet test using gasoline and a factory fuel pump to ensure that all settings on the bench will work when installed back in your vehicle.
We engine test all functions and set idle and air mixtures and make a video of your run test.
Please install and check timing and contact us before making any adjustments to your freshly built carb set.

Jet Packages
While we will also advise you to use factory jet sizes and settings, (For Weber IDA3C carburetors installed on 911 vehicles), we realize that sometimes you'll need to make changes to these settings to accommodate for different displacements and camshafts used in modified engines. Porschetechnik is a Weber distributor and we carry an extensive stock of jets, emulsion tubes, air correctors, gaskets, and carburetor kits to suit your needs. We also stock carburetor kits to fit 356 and 912 model vehicles that we have already been re-jetted to suit the Porsche engine and as always we have our calibration kits available for you to re-jet your existing carburetors.
Note: Carburation is the last system to be changed, an engine must be in good working order, (Good compression on all cylinders, Valves adjusted correctly, ignition system in good working order including distributor advance curve). If all of these items are not correct no amount of jetting can solve performance or drivability issues.
