Programmable Distributor, 0.231.184.007

New Programmable 123 Ignition Distributor
Delivered to you already programmed to replace Bosch 0.231.184.007.
WARNING: Arrives programmed only for ‘76-77 stock 2.7L 911 motors.
Professional installation is recommended.

Run a new distributor on your classic Porsche!  This distributor has the design character of the original, but with modern electronics. The 123 distributors have been around for over a decade, but they were challenging to set up properly for the 911. Until now!

Comes pre-loaded with our exclusive programming for your stock engine. Our programs for each year and sub-model were developed and tested by a Porsche-trained mechanic, engine builder, and ignition specialist with 34 years of experience.

This distributor is pre-programmed to replace a Bosch 0.231.184.007, which was factory equipment on 1976-77 Porsche 911 2.7L engines. Verify your engine code matches 911/85, 90, 94, 99. Please note that any changes to the stock programming are made at your own risk.

For modified 911 engines, a qualified, insured mechanic should be employed to adjust the programming to the engine. Incorrect setup or installation can result in severe damage to the engine and distributor.

When properly re-programmed, this distributor is suitable for other 2.7L or 2.4L 911 engines with 3-pin CDI. (Do not use this distributor on a 930 / turbo engine). An Apple or Android App allows for wireless adjustment of the ignition curve and provides an electronic dashboard. Range is 500-8K RPM. Vac can be programmed up to -20 / +20 degrees. Max crankshaft advance 40 degrees. Other key features include rev-counter, anti-theft PIN code, real time tuning, vacuum advance, boost retard, and soft rev limiter.

On 1975-77 Porsche 911 models, use this distributor with our 3 Pin CDI Wiring Harness, Late for Pertronix or 123.

As with all electrical products, this item is non-returnable except for manufacturer pre-approved warranty returns. Arrangements for repairs or warranty service must be made directly with the manufacturer.

Distributor Rebuild Standard Kit, 911SC 911 SC Distributor Rebuild Kit
Kit for rebuilding your Porsche 911 SC Distributor, including Bosch part numbers 0.237.306.001, 0.237.303.003, 0.237.304.016, 0.237.301.007, or 0.237.301.009. A resistor is included to account for the rotor changes made by Bosch;  this will correct back to 5k resistance. The vacuum can is not included in this kit.

If your distributor cap’s hold-down clips have seen better days or have gone missing, we have new ones available.  Please see part number 901.602.965.00. We also carry new drive gears and the impulse generator windings.

This kit is meant for the professional rebuilder with skill and understanding of the distributor function. Bushings will need to be reamed to fit. Having a distributor machine to run up the distributor before installation is a must. Improperly rebuilt distributors can cause engine damage.

Distributor rebuild instructions and/or diagrams are not included. If you feel you need instructions or lack the necessary tools, please send your distributor in to us for a restoration service.

We do not offer partial kits, but we do have many individual parts for the Bosch and Marelli distributors used on Porsche models.
